EIA: US commercial crude oil inventories increased by 4.6 mln barrels

Key highlights from the EIA's report's summary of weekly petroleum data for the week ending September 15, 2017:

  • U.S. crude oil refinery inputs averaged about 15.2 million barrels per day during the week ending September 15, 2017, 1.1 million barrels per day more than the previous week’s average.
  • U.S. crude oil imports averaged about 7.4 million barrels per day last week, up by 888,000 barrels per day from the previous week. 
  • U.S. commercial crude oil inventories (excluding those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve) increased by 4.6 million barrels from the previous week.
  • At 472.8 million barrels, U.S. crude oil inventories are in the upper half of the average range for this time of year.
  • Total products supplied over the last four-week period averaged 20.4 million barrels per day, up by 0.5% from the same period last year.
